Modular lounges are the sensible answer to an unsensible question: how do you buy a couch when you don't know where you'll be living next year? You buy it in pieces.

What is a modular lounge?

A modular lounge (called a sectional in the US) is a sofa made of independent modules — armless seats, left-arm and right-arm ends, and corner pieces — that connect in whatever layout your room wants. Two-seater today, L-shaped monster after the next move.

Decoding the pieces

Armless module: the building block. One on its own is a proper accent chair — our Loungi Occasional Chair anchors a corner solo. Line up two or three and you've got a sofa.

Left and right arm modules: the bookends. "Left" means the arm is on your left as you sit in it. One of each caps a run: Loungi Left and Loungi Right.

Corner module: the turn. A corner piece joins two runs into an L-shape without a gap.

Layouts that work

Apartment two-seater: left arm + right arm. Compact, complete, fits through the door because every Grumpi module arrives vacuum-compressed in its own box.

What to measure

Measure the wall, not the room — then subtract walkways (keep 60cm+ clear). With conventional couches you'd also measure doorways and stairwells, but that's the point of buying a modular lounge in boxes: if your front door opens, it fits.
